Max
Time is supposed to heal all wounds. I thought it had healed mine when I found myself ready to say "I Do." It all came crashing down the moment I saw Freya Pratt again. After all these years she still affected me like no other. I couldn’t deny that she made me feel something I haven’t felt since the day she left. She made me feel alive. Now I’m questioning everything about our past and my future.

Freya
Breaking Max's heart seemed like a good idea at eighteen. I needed him to forget me and let me go. All these years I'd pretended like what we had was never real. I told myself I wanted what was best for him. I told myself that wasn't me. After seeing him again, I'm not so sure. As his wedding day nears, I wonder if I should tell him the real reason why I left. Would it even make a difference?

Review
I'm gonna be honest here, this book frustrated me so much. It wasn't the throw your kindle across the room kinda frustration but the kind that you just want the characters and their town to figure things out. I mean sure Freya had a wild side but she also had a good heart. Yes most people judge her based on what her mom was and did or her wild side in high school. It was so bad her and her brother Rusty had their own police code..She didn't plan on meeting Max that faithful night but fate had other plans. She wasn't apart of their world and was looked down on. Max proved to her that it didn't matter to him, he loved her and thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world. He didn't care about the money or any business his parents wanted to push on him. He only wanted Freya. Things didn't plan out as planned for them though.. Fast forward a few years later, both of their lives are different. Freya's life was a mess. What she thought was a good relationship was anything but. It was like she was just there just for appearances and nothing else. She returns home only to find people's feelings are hurt and things have changed. She didn't get the welcomed she had hoped for. She had to work and apologize for forgiveness. This wasn't even for Max. She had to fight her feelings for him even if it was obvious for everyone to see. I mean it wasn't a shock when they got together. Everyone knew they would. What I liked about this book is that yes they had a love when they were young that was carefree and fun but there was something real about it. I mean despite coming from different worlds, they made it work. My other reason to like this book was that it wasn't girl meets guy, falls madly in love and they live happily ever after. This book was more of the line of angst, high tensions, explosive sex(when it did happen) and just finding out what you want in life. I mean Max had to decide whether he wanted the life his parents wanted for him or a life with Freya, which meant giving up everything for love. Freya had to decide whether or not Max was worth it. She found out some info that was kept from her and made name for herself in the town. She let things in her past go, gave people a second chance to prove themselves and found herself loving them in the end. This is a remarkable book. I loved every minute of it!
